Frank Gehry

Why should I know who Frank Gehry is? From simply looking at pictures of his work as an architect I can tell that his structures are more abstract. I think that I need to know who he is because his work as an architect follows with the guidelines of what I'm supposed to create form this first project. He doesn't follow the typical structure of a building. Some oh his structures expose the armature or skeleton of the building which is the basis of this project; to create and abstrect armature. I learned from reading about him that the style of his work is Deconstructivism, or DeCon Architecture which is going beyond the everyday structural definition.

For this project I have to step out of the box and create an armature not based of and everyday object and looking at Frank Gehry's work he shows that it is possible to do this. His work is both functional but also a standing piece of art. His structures and complied of various lines, a great deal of convex and concave lines, curved, thick and thin compared to simple straight lines. I have definitely drawn inspiration from his art and have a great understanding of what is intended for this first project. Frank Gehry isn't afraid to take risks with his work and thought the semester I hope that I can do the same.
