Snowflakes

Since it turned out to be a snow day, I thought it would be appropriate to do a blog about snowflakes. Snowflakes are quite extraordinary and obtain great artistic qualities, not only are do they have amazing detail but they have great line and shape. Snowflakes are made up of multiples of frozen ice crystals and each is unique. It is pretty impossible for any two snowflakes to be alike because the crystals all form differently. In addition, the snowflakes are always changing as they move through different temperatures they form complex shapes.

Snowflakes form because tons of water molecules freeze at different rates, which in turn form various patterns within a snowflake. I think snowflakes are so beautiful and I view them as pieces of art in nature. Although, we can’t see these complex patterns with the naked eye, they exist and can be seem under a microscope. In the spirit of winter and the snow day I thought I would be a fun and interesting blog.
